Flooring Packs Formula
Packs Needed = Ceil([(Room Length × Width) × (1 + Wastage%)] / Pack Coverage)
A 10% wastage margin is standard for straight plank layouts; 15% for diagonal herringbone.
Worked Example
5m × 4m room with 2.2 m² box coverage
Room Area = 20 m², 10% waste = 22 m² total.
• Packs needed = 22 / 2.2 = 10 packs
